In 2002 Dunman Secondary School started the CISCO Training Academy Program.  Through the tiered support system, every Academy has a "parent" Academy. Cisco Systems trains the Cisco Academy Training Centers (CATCs), the CATCs train Regional Academies and the Regional Academies train the Local Academy Instructors who then educate students.

In Dunman Local Academy, we offer the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) course, one of the 16 courses in the Cisco Networking Academy Program curricula.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants are awarded a joint-certificate by Cisco, Temasek Polytechnic and Dunman Secondary.

In 2005-2006, a total of 16 students signed up and successfully completed the CCNA (Semester One).  6 of them continued further to complete the CCNA (Semester Two).

In 2007, CISCO is introduced to the Sec 2 Robotics Club members as part of an enrichment program in Robotics Club.  Other network enthusiasts joined in as well, bring this year’s intake to a total of 12 students.  Although the intake cohort is not as large as previous years’, Dunman Local Academy still strives to impart as much knowledge and skills to the participants and as lively as possible, eg. experimental peer-teaching to ensure students truly know their contents, build up their presentation skills, as well as to make lessons more interesting to them.
