OVERVIEW
Over the years, people are often unaware of the bacteria growing in their kitchen utensils. The most important of all is the kitchen sponge that we use to clean the utensils. Bacteria would be easily transferred to the utensils when using the sponge to wash them. In this way, when food is poured over the utensils, the bacteria would contaminate the food. Thus it is unhealthy and might cause diseases.

Therefore in this experiment the objectives are to simulate the home practice of constantly reused sponges, to compare the bacterial retention of different types of sponges (hard and soft) and lastly to determine and estimate bacterial counts from these sponges after incubation.
