We aim to create a product that will naturally repel ants from our food, without the use of toxic chemicals. Current products that repel ants are sold in the market have ingredients that are toxic to humans and risk is high when applied near food substances. Our product is a natural alternative to ant repellent using cinnamon extracts that is edible to humans.
Our literature search and scientific studies have found that cinnamon naturally repel ants. By adding the cinnamon to a natural adhesive made from starch or corn flour, we have successfully produced a 'natural ant repellant paste' that can be easily applied by users and retaining the effect of ant repellant for a period of time, keeping ants away from food areas.
We see a great potential in our product entering existing market. As people are moving away to more environmentally friendly products and beginning to accept natural substitutes for a safer environment, we foresee a good turnover from this competitive advantage.

Currently, there is no such product in the market. As our production cost is low, our strategy to market entry can be of a low-cost strategy. This will certainly attract many households, especially the landed properties, childcare centres and food storage centres in Singapore where ants can be a potential problem in the kitchen
