Parents Volunteer Lead by : Mrs Liz Ng

Since January 2009, our School's Pottery CCA Club has been functioning in a new Pottery Studio Room in Artroom 2.

Pottery sessions are conducted every Saturday Morning from 10 am to 1 pm. There are plans to run this club on a weekday afternoon in 2010 an additional opening of the Club on Saturday mornings.

Over the years, Mrs Chern, Ceramics Teacher and Liz (DSP) have had the pleasure of teaching and working with many students whose beautiful and artistic creations have been used as School Souveniers and sold to raise funds during the school annual "Care and Share Day".

In addition to prmoting ceramic arts to students, regular "Introductions to Pottery" are workshops to school staff, parents from the DSP as well as exchange students from India have also been conducted by Liz.

The highlight for the Pottery Club this year was out Pottery students' achievements in the "YOG 2010" National Secondary School and JC Ceramic Competition organised by the Whompoa Arts Station and Whampoa Ceramics Club.

On Nov 6, two of our Pottery students, Soh Jia Ying (Sec 1C) and Yeo Tian Poh (Sec 1F) were awarded Bronze Awards for their ceramic creations. Their award winning creations were first publicly exhibited at the National Library from 6 Nov - 10 Nov and thereafter at the YOG Educational Gallery at Kay Siang Road.

In this augural competition organized by the Whompoa Ceramic Club, we are proud to have out 2 students, Soh Jia Ying from Sec 1C and Yeo Tian Poh from Sec 1G, achieving Bronze Awards.
