2008 marks a new begining for Dunman Dove Scout Group with the appointment of Mr Kenny Wong, Group Scout Leader and Miss Alia Moreta, Assistant Group Scout Leader.

This year, Dunman Dove Scout Group have achieved the Frank Cooper Sands Award Bronze, but we will continually strive to better ourselves in Scouting and aim for greater achievements.

Our ever-committed adult leaders; Mr Heng Jiang Li, Ms Faridah Hanim, Ms Ong Wan Chee and Ms Lee Shi Rui have helped tremendously in the training and development of our scouts to be leaders of tomorrow. We sincerely thank them for their contributions to the Dunman Dove Scout unit.

Scouting has provided our scouts with holistic training ranging from leadership development to self-development based on the scout method. The whole array of fun-filled, yet gruelling activities are specially designed to mould our youthful scouts into confident young leaders who would contribute to the community.

For the year 2008, our scouts had participated in many activities. Such activities include the ASEAN Scout Jamboree(Indonesia), National Patrol Camp 2008, Singpore Youth Festival 2008 Parade, District Patrol Camp Competition 2008, a 3 day 2 night internal training camp in June, 30km night hike, gangshows and campfires by other scout units.

This year, as we continue to provide training and guidance to our older scouts who have left school, we have brought back the Venture unit meant for scouts aged 15 to 18. In this special effort, we have collaborated with other units in the district to further expand our resources and experience. The ventures would allow for the older scouts to develop their leadership skills by coming back to guide the younger scouts.

As 2008 brings about a new challenge, the Dove scouts are proud to commend the scouts for attaining their Scout Standard, Advanced Scout Standard and First Class Scout Standard. The scouts are also very much involved in district, national and international events to further expand their horizons and experience.  We strongly support them in their efforts in being pro-active in their own learning and development.

In line with our Scout motto “Be Prepared”, we will strive towards a wonderful and fantastic year in 2009.
