Red Cross

It has been another fruitful year for Dunman Red Cross Youth. With the range of activities organised, we try to meet up to our motto – serving humanity, saving lives. For one of our activities this year, we tried to do a food collection for the underprivileged people in the Kampong Kapur housing estate area. During this service learning activity the sec 1 to 5 cadets managed to communicate with the underprivileged people. They learnt the importance caring through this meaningful activity organised by the Red Cross HQ.

The cadets trained hard last year for the National Footdrill Competition early this year. Through their hardwork, they managed to clinch second runners-up in the East Zone category. A few of our cadets were also given the opportunity to participate in the National Day Parade as part of the Red Cross squad. We also took part in the Current Affairs competition where the cadets learned and expanded their knowledge on the worldwide Red Cross relief efforts in natural disasters.

As we move on to close the year, we will be doing more home visits as part of our community service efforts as well as to better equip the new cadets with First Aid skills. We will continue as a group to create opportunities for our cadets to become disciplined and  all-rounded individuals.
