Red Cross

This year the Dunman Red Cross unit proudly clinched the silver award for the Excellence Units Award for the third year running.  We carried out a number of activities for our cadets to live up to our motto of serving humanity, saving lives.

This year, we worked with Griffiths Primary School for a period of 8 weeks to spread our knowledge of First Aid to its pupils in one of their modular CCA programmes. Our cadets were given an opportunity to practise their mentoring skills with the younger primary school cadets by conducting First Aid lessons for them. We also took part in competitions organised by the Singapore Red Cross Youth such as the national footdrill competition and the First Aid competition.

As we moved on to complete the year, more interesting activities were organized to instill the Red Cross Values in all the cadets. The Secondary 2 cadets sat for their First Aid exams as well as various proficiency tests at the end of the year. We would also like to thank our current batch of sec 4 cadets for the helping in planning and running of many of the interesting programmes for the cadets. The leadership skills that they have acquired over the years in Red Cross have definitely helped to mould the cadets into the disciplined, distinguished individuals that they are today.
