The Dunman Concert Band has always been a distinguished CCA in the history of our school. Founded in 1969, it consists of 3 instrumental groups, namely the percussion, woodwinds and brasses. Member count usually ranges from 70 to 90 people. Every year at least 30 sec 1's will join the band as recruits and leave the school as Distinctive Dunmanites.

The Dunman Concert Band emphasizes the " One for all, all for one " mentality. Discipline is strict and respect for each other, an important quality to have. Band training is usually held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, lasting between 2 to 3 hours. On Saturdays the band also holds 2-hour foot drill sessions to go through simple military band drills. Every June holiday the seniors will also single- handedly organize a band camp for all the younger band members. This overnight camp is aimed at allowing everyone to bond and learn, but it also serves as a chance for our Sec 2s and 3s to hone their leadership skills. Activities during the band camp include lots of band practice, team bonding games and interesting night programmes, too. Other than the camp, the band also holds and performs in at least 3 concerts a year including the bi-annual SYF competition. Each year hours of hard work go into preparing for this prestigious competition. The choice piece and set piece are practiced and improved upon over a span of about eight months until the day of the competition. In SYF 2005 the band clinched its very first Gold award and in SYF 2007 and 2009 we attained a silver award.
