Lim Meng Keh
Meng Keh graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts, Australia in 1983 under the Singapore Public Service Commission Scholarship with a diploma in timpani/percussion.
Upon graduation he was awarded the coveted Billy Hyde Percussion Prize. Since graduation he has been timpanist/percussionist with the SSO. He performed as soloist with the SSO in 1984 and with the SAF Central Band in 2000. He collaborated with the Singapore Dance Theatre in its premiere “The Ice Nymph” in 1989 and also represented Singapore in the Asian Friendly Concerts held in Fukuoka, Japan in 1994 and 1998.
As a member of the SSO Percussion Ensemble, he has appeared on the SSO Chamber Music Series, Singapore Arts Festival Fringe Concerts, Shell Lunchtime Concerts and Esso Concert Series. Meng Keh has conducted workshops at various educational institutes since 1989. He has been tutor at the Singapore Youth Orchestra and the SYO Training Ensemble since 1985 and Lecturer of Timpani/Percussion at the LaSalle-SIA College of the Arts since 1994.
His students have attained distinctions in the examinations and were featured in the ABRSM High Scorer’s Concert. In his free time Meng Keh spends time with his two kids, and enjoys travelling, jogging and playing computer games.

Samantha Chong
Ms Samantha Chong was appointed as the Resident Conductor and Music Director of the Dunman Concert Band since 1995. Under her baton, the Band emerged as a silver award recipient at the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Central Judging for the first time in 1997 and clinched the coveted Gold Award at the 2005 SYF Central Judging. Also under her charge, the Dunman Secondary School Concert Band had the opportunity to perform in the USA and Japan and was voted the People’s Favourite Band at the Balloon Hat Festival at Sentosa in 2005.
A music scholar of the Singapore Public Service Commission, Ms Samantha Chong graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in the United States of America where she obtained a Bachelor of Music (Performance) Degree. A fine and outstanding musician from the start, she has studied under renowned musicians like Buddy Baker, Jack Robinson and well-known professors of conducting, Eugene Corporon and David Wallace.
Since her return to Singapore, Ms Samantha Chong has been actively performing with various groups. She is recently appointed the Principal Trombonist of the Singapore Festival Orchestra and was the second trombonist of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO). She has also performed with ensembles such as the SSO Brass Quintet, the SSO Trombone Quartet, the SSO Brass Trio, the Singapore Jazz Orchestra, Windworkz: the Big Band at the Singapore Arts Festival Fringes, Shell Lunchtime Concerts, Esso School Concerts, charity events and private functions.
Besides taking the Band to greater heights, Ms Samantha Chong is a much sought-after trombone tutor and has contributed to the many successes of the Singapore Youth Orchestra, the National University of Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and the Singapore Armed Forces Bands. As a Clinician and Adjudicator of the Robert Young Trombone Competition in Brisbane, Australia, she is well recognized for her contribution to the local music scene. Currently, she is also pursuing her Master in Education (Music) at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University.
