Dunman Basketball has established itself as a major contender for the zonal competitions. Our aim is to be involved in the Nationals every year for all the divisions that we have. The rise of Dunman Basketball coincides with the upgrading of the sports facilities and the construction of the indoor sports hall-one of the few for schools in the east. As such, our set up underlines our lofty ambitions. We now boast a strength of almost 70 students within 4 divisions. Together with 3 teachers in charge and 2 established coaches, the members of Dunman Basketball are nurtured to unearth their talents, taught comadarie and drilled the importance of becoming an all rounded student athlete.

All 4 divisions played extraordinarily well in the East Zone Tournament and Nationals Tournament 2008 with the ‘C’ boys, ‘C’ girls and ‘B’ girls emerging 2nd, 1st and 4th respectively in the zonal competition. The ‘C’ girls then went on to reach the national finals and eventually finished as runners – up. With consistent performances from the various groups, Dunman Basketball has already established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the nationwide schools basketball scene!

The teams were also sent for invitational matches and external competitions throughout the year to prepare them for the tournament. These include U – 14 tournaments and T – Net invitations where Team Dunman traditionally managed good results. The ‘B’ girls managed to emerge champions of the MILO Youth cup 2008 while our boys performed sterling performances for established basketball club Tagawa and Combined Schools Team. Dunman Basketball also embarked on an overseas trip to Taipei at the end of 2008 where the team forged a stronger bond while getting ready for the upcoming challenges in 2009.
